Better Health Through Research

What do insulin shots, penicillin pills, and organ transplants have in common? The answer: all are breakthrough discoveries in medical research made over the last century. Join us this fall for the University of Pittsburgh’s 2008 Mini-Medical School Program as we celebrate the vital role of research in the quest for better health and explore current health care topics that are of great interest to today’s medical researchers — and to you.

Sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, this special program is designed to share accurate, up-to-date health and biomedical information with members of the community in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Unlike real medical school, there are no exams, no cadavers, and no tuition. The entire program — including parking — is free of charge.

You’ll get the inside track on timely topics relevant to you and your family. You’ll learn about promising new diagnostic tools and therapies being developed. And you’ll hear it all from some of the very same clinicians and researchers who are training the next generation of doctors at one of the nation’s top-rated medical schools.

We’re enrolling now for the Class of 2008. However, space is limited and fills up quickly, so don’t delay. Register online or by phone at 412-383-7255.
